For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.–Romans 8:38-39

We Have an Advocate

“We have an advocate with the Father,
Jesus Christ the righteous.”

–1 John 2:1

As many of our family and friends know, we had a small shake up this week when a 5.8 earthquake surprised our tiny island. I say “small shake up” in light of the horrific tragedy Haiti is suffering right now.

When my children were worried after the earthquake, I reminded them that one of the best things about being a Christian is that we never lose! The worst thing that could happen to us, will always be the best thing for us. Even if we die, we’ll be present with the Lord, so we always win! Even if we struggle, we have an advocate on our behalf, praying to the Father with and for us!

Christ, our advocate, pleads on our behalf! He defends and supports us! He promotes to the Father whatever is in our best interest!
