Convinced

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.–Romans 8:38-39

The Big Five

We had a wonderful two half days on safari in one of KwaZulu Natal’s game reserve parks! I was amazed at how much bigger the animals were in their natural habitat than what we’re accustomed to at our local zoo! Let me tell you, being face to face with a ginormous white rhino was quite exciting and scary!

We saw lots of exotic, beautiful, terrifying, amazing animals, but I think the highlight was searching for and finding almost all of the “Big Five”.

South Africa’s “Big Five” refers to five of Africa’s greatest wild animals–the lion, rhino, water buffalo, leopard, and elephant. We saw all but the leopard. Unfortunately, I did not get excellent photos of  most of them, but they are etched in my memories and are a testament to our great God, who created each one with just a word, “Be”, and it was so.

And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.”
Genesis 1:24-25
